PBS Show On-Set CreativeLed creative across editorial, eCommerce, social, product, packaging, print, and photography for Milk Street for four years. Managed the design and development of web-based editorial content, eCommerce products, paid social, organic social, cookbooks, magazines, packaging, and branded consumer touchpoints.
Owned creative direction from concept through production, including art direction, design, illustration, pre-press, onsite print production, and photo shoot oversight. Directed photographers, stylists, and production teams across editorial, published media, PBS show content, behind-the-scenes coverage, social media, web, eCommerce, and paid advertising. Created, illustrated, designed, and photographed in-house private label products including spices, sauces, tools, and cookware.
Web
Led the redesign of Milk Street’s editorial recipe website and designed and built a custom Shopify experience for selling hard-to-find ingredients, tools, and cookware. The eCommerce business began as an idea I developed and presented to founder Christopher Kimball, who encouraged me to build it and see what it could become. That concept grew into one of the company’s leading revenue drivers and sparked a broader portfolio of premium ingredients, specialty tools, and cookware.
Owned the creative direction, design, build, redesign, product photography, and visual merchandising of the shopping experience, creating a cohesive eCommerce system across site design, product presentation, photography, and retention marketing. Managed the designer responsible for email marketing, ensuring the visual direction carried consistently across the full customer journey.
Milk Street Magazine
Art directed and designed Milk Street Magazine, leading the creative development of six issues per year from concept through final production. Owned the visual direction, layout design, typography, pacing, photography direction, illustration integration, and overall editorial presentation across each issue.
Worked closely with editors, writers, photographers, stylists, illustrators, and production partners to translate recipes, travel stories, essays, and culinary features into a cohesive print experience. Managed the full design process from initial art direction and page development through pre-press and final printed form, ensuring each issue felt visually rich, editorially sharp, and distinctly Milk Street.
Cookbooks
Played a central role on the creative team responsible for art directing Milk Street’s cookbook and editorial publishing program, including both interior design and cover art. Contributed to the visual strategy, photography direction, layout development, typography, pacing, and final presentation of each publication, working closely with editors, designers, photographers, stylists, and production partners to create polished, cohesive, and highly ownable printed products.
